Scientific auxiliary facilities and field engineering renovation project of the Western Agricultural Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences

The total irrigation area of the project area is 2,056 acres. The project area is located in Changji, which belongs to the south of the Junggar Basin in northern Xinjiang. It is a mid-temperate zone with a typical continental arid climate, characterized by cold winters, hot summers, and large temperature differences between day and night. There is ample sunshine, with 2,700 hours of sunshine per year.

In view of this, field intelligent irrigation equipment (wireless electric butterfly valves) are all powered by solar energy, while retaining the built-in lithium sub-battery power supply function as a backup so that normal use will not be affected when the solar power supply system is later replaced or repaired.

The first phase of the field automation renovation project mainly targets plots 1-3#, with a total area of about 560 acres. The crops grown include cotton, alfalfa, watermelon, hemp, corn, rapeseed, kenaf, red dates, melon, cold and drought crops. There are more than 110 types of scientific research crops such as grass seeds, a total of 150 water outlet piles in the field, and a total of 200 sets of wireless electric butterfly valves installed. In addition, the entire project site is covered by four wireless base stations-smart gateways, equipped with a third-generation user management platform, and management Personnel can control the timing and quantitative (angle switch) precise irrigation of 200 valves through the mobile phone APP and computer Web terminal, which greatly reduces the time cost of watering, improves watering efficiency and water resource utilization, and provides opportunities for precision crop planting. Management has laid an important foundation!
